About The Book

This text is written specifically as guide book to help a person or family understand, accept and work through the dying process. The goal is to lay the groundwork for a peaceful and comfortable passing, rather than a chaotic or painful death. The style is honest and easy to understand. Originally the book was sold as an electronic book in 2003 and 2004. Many lay readers provided feedback and questions which were then incorporated into the text for the print version. The audio version was produced in late 2004 and edition one of the print version was released on February 22, 2005.
The authors will take the reader through all areas of the dying process, including recognition, acceptance, medical and legal concerns, living wills and other documents, financial planning, nutrition and fluids, use of hospice and other services, pain control and hygiene concerns, working with health care providers, as well as guilt and grief management.
The paperback book version is 219 pages in length. In addition to the authors' views, there is a financial planning chapter, and multiple places for taking notes and recording information about a person who might be receiving end-of-life care. Therefore the print version is literally designed to be the focal point of your planning.
The audio version is a downloadable .WAV audio file that can be played in most common audio players and can be burned to a CD and played in any standard CD player or a computer with a CD drive and speakers. The authors recorded their contributions to the work and the listeners will feel as though are part of a meeting with the authors. This audio version serves as the ideal focus for family meetings as the family begins to plan for end-of-life care. It will bring the group together 'on the same page' and help to start conversations which are necessary but difficult to begin. Imagine sitting down with your family and having experienced professionals lead you through the complex web of issues that arise during end-of life care.
The eBook version is the text of the actual book in electronic format. It can be downloaded immediately. It can then be printed or read on the screen.
